Christ the King Catholic College (CKCC), Odolewu-Ijebu, is a government-approved Catholic Secondary School established by the Catholic Diocese of Ijebu-Ode on September 8, 1995, under the visionary leadership of Most Rev. (Dr) Albert Ayinde Fasina, the then Bishop of Ijebu-Ode Diocese, as Proprietor.
The College was founded with a clear and noble mission — to provide sound, effective, purposeful, and functional education that promotes the holistic formation of the boy child in accordance with Christian values. It is a boys-only, fully boarding institution dedicated to nurturing discipline, character, intellectual excellence, and spiritual maturity.
Our Early Years
CKCC began operations at its temporary site in Ijebu-Ode, on a modest parcel of land measuring approximately 3,360.91m². Despite limited resources, the College quickly distinguished itself through the commitment, faith, and dedication of its founding clergy, faculty staff, and pioneer students.
From inception, the College was envisioned not just as a center for learning, but as a community of faith and formation — a place where young boys would grow into responsible, God-fearing, and service-oriented men. Academic excellence was pursued alongside moral discipline, spirituality, and leadership training, hallmarks that still define CKCC today.
Relocation and Growth
On October 19, 1999, the College was formally relocated from its temporary site in Ijebu-Ode to its permanent campus at Odolewu, along the Ijebu-Ode–Epe Road. The new site, covering 100 acres of land, offered a serene, expansive, and purpose-built environment for comprehensive formation.
This relocation ushered in a new era of growth and transformation. The College expanded its infrastructure, building modern classrooms, science laboratories, Coding and Robotic laboratory, hostels, staff quarters, a multi-purpose hall, and Sports facilities. Over time, the College became a model institution admired for its strong Catholic ethos, academic excellence, and disciplined community life.
Academic and Moral Excellence
Since its founding, CKCC has consistently excelled in external examinations, academic competitions, debates, and sports, earning recognition within and beyond Ogun State. Yet, the College’s true strength lies in its commitment to holistic formation — educating the mind, nurturing the spirit, and forming the conscience in the light of Christian truth.
Guided by its motto, “Faith, Industry and Service,” CKCC remains dedicated to forming young men who are not only intellectually sound but also morally upright and socially responsible — young men prepared to make positive contributions to Church and society.
Leadership and Continuity
Today, the mantle of leadership of the Catholic Diocese of Ijebu-Ode rests with Most Rev. (Dr) Francis Obafemi Adesina, who now serves as the Proprietor of the College. Under his pastoral guidance and commitment to Catholic education, the College continues to thrive in its mission of integral human formation, ensuring that every student is shaped by faith, knowledge, discipline, and service.
The College is present lead by Rev. Fr. (Dr) John Aruleba, the Principal, whose dedication and vision uphold the founding ideals of academic excellence and moral formation that define CKCC.
